Would you believe me if I told you that the art teacher's prompt for this project was "Popcorn?" Yeah. I know. I was thinking about what popcorn means... Television! But that was a bit too generic. So I thought "what eats popcorn if not people? Hm..." and the answer was flies! And being me, I could resist but to give the front fly a flight helmet and the middle-ground fly a pair of glasses. Just a little tour through the mind of me.

Perspective is good amongst the flies, I see you used watercolor and it seems colored pencil?
I can't really see why some of the popcorn is glowing like uranium, and some detail behind the flies would be good, if you wanted to really make the piece pop, I would like to see vibrant color like in your other stuff. Good job though!
I agree. I'm on a deadline, so I often end up rushing parts of my drawings. I was going for that eerie night time glow that comes from the TV in a dark room, so that is why some of the popcorn (as well as the flies, bowl, and remote) have blue on them. That one in the middle sure does stick out like a sore thumb though, doesn't it? By the way, you were spot on with the mediums, but I used regular mechanical pencil for the remote. I am very impressed with your review.

I'm always impressed at how ridiculously quick responses come after I post something. Detail has always been my favorite thing. I feel that perseverance, above all, creates great works of art, even more so than skill. I'm sorry the aesthetics aren't doing it for you, but thanks for the compliments anyhow.
